COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is commonly referred to as “Remote Area First Aid”. To truly appreciate the course, it should be mostly taught in the field, where participants can practice skills and knowledge in dealing with various contingencies. Remote does not mean just wilderness events, but may include work or living situations where assistance from ambulance and medical services will be delayed. For this reason, even persons working on some mines sites, both above or underground, persons working at remote sites will all fit this category.

Participants will need access to items such as tents, sleeping bags etc.

To comply with mandatory requirements, participants will be required to perform CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor for competency to be achieved
