COURSE DESCRIPTION

This unit contains the skills and knowledge required to provide a first aid response to infants, children and adults. It has a dedicated focus towards children, and environments similar to child care facilities and schools.

The unit applies to educators and support staff working within the education and care setting who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies as examples.

Course duration is approximately 16 hrs face to face delivery.

To comply with mandatory requirements, participants will be required to perform CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor for competency to be achieved.
