COURSE DESCRIPTION
This module is aimed at providing basic response techniques to potentially life-threatening conditions and injury. It includes CPR at its’ core, and is inclusive of the following minimum topics:
- allergic reaction
- anaphylaxis
- bleeding control
- cardiac conditions, including chest pain
- chocking and airway obstruction
- respiratory distress, including asthma
- shock
- stroke
Theory wise, participants will cover basic anatomy and physiology relating to:
- considerations in provision of first aid for specified conditions
- chest
- how to recognise a person is not breathing normally
- response/consciousness
- upper airway and effect of positional change
Course duration approximately 8 hrs face to face delivery
To comply with mandatory requirements, participants will be required to perform CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor for competency to be achieved
